Wedding Photography Jarryn & Tamara

I was lucky enough to be contacted by Tamara to photograph her wedding just a few days before Christmas. She decided to bring the date forward to make sure some very special people could be there. That choice gave the whole day an extra layer of meaning and emotion.

The ceremony and reception were held at Parua Bay Tavern, just outside of Whangārei. This coastal venue offered beautiful views and a relaxed atmosphere. The weather was perfect clear skies, warm sun, and a gentle summer breeze.

Because Brooke works closely with clients, we wanted her photos to feel warm and professional. As a result, we focused on capturing genuine expressions, natural poses, and friendly energy. The session included a mix of traditional head shotsas well as lifestyle-style portraits that could be used across her marketing platforms.

Tamara made a beautiful bride. She was glowing with happiness from the moment I arrived. Her calm, joyful presence set the tone for the entire day. Jarryn matched her energy perfectly. You could feel how much love they shared every time they looked at each other.

One of the things I love about wedding photography is how it captures both big and small moments. With Jarryn and Tamara, there were so many of both. From the emotional walk down the aisle to the fun, laughter-filled reception, the day was full of connection and joy.

Parua Bay Tavern was a dream to shoot at. The natural light, especially during golden hour, added something truly magical to the portraits. The harbour made a stunning backdrop for both candid and posed shots.

Throughout the day, I focused on keeping the photos natural and relaxed. That’s what I aim for with every wedding photography session. I want couples to feel present in their moment not overly posed or stiff.

If you’re planning a wedding and want photography that tells a real, heartfelt story, I’d love to help you capture it. Wedding photography is more than images. It’s about preserving memories that will last a lifetime.

I’d love to chat.
