I recently had the pleasure of working with Elysha from Lilou. She contacted me to create a collection of product photography for her maternity clothing brand. Lilou is a New Zealand brand that makes stylish, comfortable clothes for pregnancy and beyond. Each piece is designed to help women feel confident through every stage of motherhood.

To match the soft and natural feel of the brand, we needed the right location. After considering a few options, we chose the  Whangārei Quarry Gardens, This beautiful, green space in Northland was perfect. It gave us a peaceful and colourful setting that worked well with the clothes.

Our main goal was to create lifestyle product photos that felt real and inspiring. These images would be used on Lilou’s website and social media. Because customers can’t try the clothes on in person, the photos needed to show how the garments look and move in real life.

We used only natural light to keep the images soft and honest. In addition, we focused on movement and relaxed moments. This helped us show the comfort and beauty of each piece.

Product photography is very important in online shopping—especially in fashion. Since shoppers can’t touch or try on the clothes, images must do more than just show the product. Good photos tell a story and help people feel more sure about what they’re buying.

Working with Elysha was a joy. Her love for her brand and her eye for detail made the whole process smooth and creative. In the end, we created something we’re both proud of.
